Lisa Dierker, Ph.D. is a developmental psychologist trained in psychiatric epidemiology. Her work focuses on the application of state-of-the-art quantitative methods in mapping the progression of smoking and other substance use behaviors. Dr. Dierker has expertise in the statistical programming and analysis of large and complex epidemiologic data sets including the National Comorbidity Survey (NCS), The Yale Family Study of Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorders, The National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions (NESARC), The National Longitudinal Survey of Adolescent Health (AddHealth), SAMHSA’s Client Patient Sample Survey and the Service Use Needs and Outcomes among Puerto Rican Children Survey. Aside from her involvement in the Tobacco Etiology Research Network, she was involved in the Research Network on Psychopathology and Development sponsored by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Her research is currently funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Donaghue Medical Research Foundation.
